Calypso [kuh-lip-soh], noun.
Stemming from Greek origin, Calypso is a ‘goddess of strange power and grace’. She represents the Calypso Aesthetic woman and her beauty- powerful, intelligent and insightful.

Haus [hows], noun.
Adapted from the German word for "house", Haus in this context signifies more than a physical space. It is the Haus of everything, a home for resortwear, beauty, and conscious essentials. Calypso Haus exists as a curated world where elevated design meets purpose, and where every piece tells a story of power, intention, and impact.

Driven by a desire to create change through fashion, the founder was bitterly disappointed at the lack of recognition for social and environmental impact in the local fashion space.

The intention behind Calypso is to empower women and men to engage consciously with fashion, encouraging consumers to reflect on how their purchases impact not only themselves, but also the world around them. Calypso Swim garments are ethically made from regenerated fishing nets and plastic bottles recovered from the ocean. The swimwear is also biodegradable, equipped with UPF 50+ sun protection, and crafted from PETA-approved and Oeko Tex certified fabrics.

Each swimwear garment purchased provides one year of clean water to someone in need through Calypso’s partner, Thirst Project. The brand also contributes a percentage of monthly proceeds to Global Reforestation through One Tree Planted.

Through a natural inclination to give back, the founder’s approach to business has always been ‘if it won’t benefit others, then why do it?’. When purchasing from Calypso, you are contributing to so much more than a business, you are investing in a global shift towards ‘fashion with a cause’.
